World Environment Day (WED) strives to raise awareness and encourage action for the environment. It offers an opportunity to reflect on accomplishments and renew our resolve in overcoming the environmental challenges facing the world today.

2023 is the 50th anniversary of World Environment Day. This year the host is Côte d'Ivoire in partnership with the Netherlands. Over the past five decades, the day has grown to be one of the largest global platforms for environmental outreach. Tens of millions of people take part along with governments, companies, cities and community organizations. This year we spotlight solutions to plastic pollution.

We are excited to connect you with the global effort, #BeatPlasticPollution

Local World Environment Day partners include Solano County Water Agency, Solano Resource Conservation District, Bureau of Reclamation, Solano County Parks, the cities and county of Solano, Markley Cove Resort, River Network and Anheuser-Busch.
